CHICAGO — With a moonshot that made plenty of noise as it cracked off the bat, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez hammered a 450-foot bomb out to center field on Tuesday. The solo dinger at Wrigley Field left the yard at 109 mph and sported a launch angle of 30 degrees.
Baez took Cleveland Indians starter Carlos Carrasco deep on a slider in the bottom of the second, putting the Cubs up 1-0. Baez now has seven dingers and 20 RBIs on the season.
