CINCINNATI — After trailing for the entire game on Sunday, the Chicago Cubs took the lead over the Cincinnati Reds with two outs in the top of the seventh. Not long after a pitching change, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant skied a go-ahead dinger out to left field.
The 3-run home run sailed 402 feet and marked Bryant's first homer at Great American Ball Park in three seasons. Bryant's 23rd long ball of the year, the clutch bomb off Reds reliever Michael Lorenzen sported an exit velocity of 98 miles per hour and a launch angle of 28 degrees.
