SAN DIEGO — Hitting his second 2-run blast of the game, Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant went yard in the top of the eighth on Tuesday. Marking the 28th dinger of the season for Bryant, the 391-footer at Petco Park pulled the Cubs to within one run of the San Diego Padres.
The blast off Padres reliever Andres Munoz scored Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who led off the eighth frame with a single. Leaving the bat at 99 miles per hour and 28 degrees, Bryant's bomb made the score 8-7.
