CHICAGO — In the bottom of the first on Tuesday, Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber plated Cubs right fielder Nicholas Castellanos with a 2-out double. Then, in the bottom of the third, Schwarber scored Castellanos again with an extra-base hit, as he smacked an RBI triple that pulled the Cubs to within one run of the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field.

Both extra-base hits came with two outs and brought Castellanos home from first base. The third-inning triple, Schwarber's third 3-bagger of the season, was lined into the right-field corner. Schwarber was nearly given the opportunity to score when the throw to third base carried into foul territory, but a lucky bounce off a partition worked in the Reds' favor. Regardless, Schwarber's triple off Reds starting pitcher Sonny Gray made the score 3-2.
