WATCH: Rizzo goes yard for third time in last four games with leadoff blast |
With his third home run of the Chicago Cubs' 5-game West Coast road trip, first baseman
Anthony Rizzo went yard with a 364-foot shot to right to lead off the top of the fourth against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. Coming on a golf-like swing, the solo dinger sported a launch angle of 28 degrees as it coasted into the right-field seats at T-Mobile Park.
Getting underneath a slider thrown down the middle by Mariners reliever Chasen Bradford, Rizzo powered out his seventh home run of the year to give him 198 for his career. The round-tripper put the Cubs up 8-0 and came after Rizzo hit a go-ahead 2-run homer against the Mariners in the series opener on Tuesday. The home run also marked the third long ball in the last four games for Rizzo. .@ARizzo44 has homered in three of our last four games! #TeamRizzo#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/Bzfb3Mal2Y
