WATCH: Robel Garcia skies 3-run moonshot as part of 7-run inning for Cubs |
ST. LOUIS — Putting a dent in the St. Louis Cardinals' race for the National League Central pennant, Chicago Cubs second baseman
Robel Garcia skied a towering 3-run blast on Friday night. The dinger was part of a 7-run seventh inning for the Cubs, which resulted in the North Siders taking an 8-1 lead over the Redbirds.
Boasting a steep launch angle of 35 degrees, Garcia's fifth home run of the season carried 393 feet out to right field at Busch Stadium. Coming on a four-seamer delivered by Cardinals reliever Ryan Helsley, the 3-run shot, which occurred with two outs, exited the yard at 100 miles per hour.
