WATCH: SCHWAR-BOMB ALERT! Schwarber smashes epic 467-foot blast |
While rounding the bases after hitting one of the most impressive home runs of his career, Chicago Cubs left fielder
Kyle Schwarber gave himself a well-deserved pat on the back. Schwarber absolutely crushed an epic 467-foot blast to put the Cubs up 3-2 over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, providing himself with his 11th long ball and 23rd RBI of 2019.
The mammoth solo blast incited plenty of audible gasps from the fans in attendance at Wrigley Field, with the fifth-inning round-tripper sailing out to right-center after getting pulverized off the bat at 111 miles per hour. Rockies starter Jeff Hoffman was taken deep on a 95-mile-per-hour fastball. The high, arcing shot sported a launch angle of 35 degrees, and it marked the longest dinger of the season for Schwarber, as well as the third-longest hit by any Cub this year. Please enjoy this large home run.#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/1hIOlUfvtM
