CHICAGO — A heartwarming scene unfolded at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon, as the Chicago Cubs' matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates was part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day at the Friendly Confines. In recognition of the special occasion, a gold ribbon, which symbolizes the fight against pediatric cancer, was painted onto the grass behind home plate.

Prior to the contest, 30 brave kids joined the Cubs on the field for the singing of the national anthem. The brave children are all survivors of pediatric cancer, and they stood in a line with Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who is a cancer survivor himself, while the anthem was sung.
