Yu Darvish on 2019: "I really want to do something for Chicago" |
Cubs starting pitcher
Yu Darvish is trying for a comeback season after an injury-plagued 2018 season where he went 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
Darvish threw 45 pitches on Saturday ahead of the Cubs pitchers' report date on Wednesday. He spoke to reporters after his successful throwing session. "I couldn't do anything last year for the Cubs," Darvish said in the following video. "I really love the fans and this organization, but I couldn't do anything. I really want to do something for Chicago and the Cubs." If Darvish stays healthy and returns to his talented pitching ways, the Cubs will have one of the more formidable rotations in the National League. Yu Darvish throws 45 pitches from the mound today and looked REALLY good. He says he also feels good and wants to prove to the Cubs fans he was and is worth the investment. #cubs #darvish #wgntvnew pic.twitter.com/CWEUEw7Cuv
