Cole Hamels (7-6, 3.95) vs. Chris Paddack (8-7, 3.54)

Third game of 4-game series. Hamels pitching in his hometown. Kemp starting at second base and batting leadoff.

M2 — It's worth pointing out that KB's popup was a flyout to shallow CF. Rizzo's lack of speed resulted in him remaining at 3B. Probably a smart move, but he could've reasonably tried to score.

B3 — Margot hits a nubber, & Hamels inexplicably fires a horrible (and unnecessary) throw to Rizzo that sails down the RF line. Error allows Margot to reach 2B w/ 1 out.

B6 — Padres possibly take advantage of a weakness of former Padres pitcher Wieck. Runner on 3B races halfway down 3B line before pitch, & Wieck fires a high throw to Contreras. Runner scores. Play seemed to be by design. Padres up by 2.
