Yea Heyward was to this day has been an albatross on Theo Epstein's budgets. I can understand what he was thinking with J-Hey with his young age and how he could project as a Cubs power-wise.
I remember when he signed, I was excited but was a little shocked on the years and the contract which was given like he was an elite player.

And to think that Heyward's contract is nothing compared to what Harper wants.

Both guys will probably NOT live up to their massive contracts but obviously, Harper is a 10x better hitter.
He has a chance to be a HOFer if he starts to string along a ton of 30 homer seasons for the next decade.

I just don't see him lasting another 10 years at this level of performance. I could see a 5 year, $150M deal, but not ten years at 30 million. The team that signs him for 10 years/$300M is going to get burned. maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it will happen.
