Honestly, you might be right. For a pitcher, this might be the equivalent of a hitter who takes a bunch of hacks in the home run derby. Remember when Josh Hamilton had that epic HR derby performance in 2008 and then experienced a cooling-off period after the All-Star break? It's kind of like that. It definitely wasn't a good thing for Chapman to pitch all of those innings in that short span of time with that all-or-nothing pitching style of his. It could very well have messed him up. I'm still baffled that Maddon inserted him into Game 6 of the World Series after he threw all of those pitches in Game 5. I ultimately blame that on Chapman running out of gas in Game 7.

agreed. I was shocked when I saw Maddon keep throwing him out there in the World Series. It was worth it for the Cubs as they got the title and for Chapman who got that massive contract with the Yankees.

However, for the Yankees, it might have hurt them as they have a pitcher with a tired arm.

What a shame if Chapman's arm proves to be ruined. Joe Maddon did what was required using the assets on
hand to win the Cubs an historic World Series Championship title.

He has been pitching better as of late. I think it might have been just a tired arm.
