I don't think most ballplayers want a 13 year deal. Unless you are the 1927 Yankees, it is unlikely you will dominate for more than 4-6 years, and then its time to rebuild. Players want to play where they can win and even with a 13 year deal, most, would like to have one or two opt out years to move on when things get bad.

I just can't see him being worth $30M a year at age 35, much less at age 39.
