Based on proximity and the number of fans who travel, Cubs/Brewers would make for a good rivalry, but I think this only happens if the teams compete head-head, neck and neck for a decade. Right now, it's all Cubs/Cards.

They are becoming great rivals. In fact the players hate each other way more than the Cubs Cards hate each other. Cardinals are a fan rivalry, the Brewers are a players rivalry.

The Brewers are a serious team with a pretty big upside. It's a game we need to pay more attention to instead of just shrugging off.

I don't think they're a terrible team, but I don't think they're a consistent contender either. Last year the regular season was a perfect storm for them. How far did they get in the playoffs? Exactly.

For every Cubs that had a bad year, you had one Brewer with a banner year, last year. Depending on how well the Reds improve, I see Milwaukee as a 3rd-4th place team this year, and I'm leaning towards 4th. My prediction for the Cubs/Brewers season series: Cubs 13; Brewers 6.
