Chicago Cubs (1-3) @ Atlanta Braves (1-3)

Jon Lester (1-0, 3.00) vs. Julio Teheran (0-1, 5.40)

Second of 3-game set. Cubs currently on 3-game skid. Lester starting for Cubs. He's the only starter to experience success on the mound for Chicago thus far this season. Zobrist batting leadoff for Cubs.

M1 — Unfortunate bang-bang DP ends Cubs' promising opening inning. Baez drills liner right to 3B, which leads to 3rd & final out of inning on easy toss over to 2B to get runner too far off bag.

B1 — Kind of stunning that reliable defense was a staple for the Cubs in 2018, even when facing hitting & pitching hiccups off & on throughout, yet it's the glaring issue for the Cubs at the start of the 2019 season.

B3 — Homers aplenty in 3rd. Leadoff bomb from Swanson ties game at 3-3. Lester hung a cutter over outside of plate, & Swanson drilled it. Albies hits one to RF, too, a few ABs later. Braves lead.

T6 — Lester nearly picked off at 3B, but the veteran is able to dive back in safely. Runners on 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs. Lester 1-for-1 with 2 BBs tonight. Bryant can come through with big hit right here.

B8 — Yet another bullpen disaster for the Cubs. 3 different relievers so far in 8th. Braves have tacked on 4 runs, including 3 on double from Camargo.

F — 4th straight loss for the Cubs. Blown leads have been a constant throughout the skid. Bullpen issues have overshadowed well-rounded hitting in early goings of season.
