Seattle Mariners (58-80) @ Chicago Cubs (73-63)

Justus Sheffield (0-1, 7.94) vs. Kyle Hendricks (9-9, 3.47)

Opener of 2-game set. Last interleague series of the year for the Cubs. Cubs swept the Mariners in the 2-game series at Seattle earlier in the season.

E1 — A Cubs challenge reverses an out call at 1B on a potential inning-ending double play. That leads to a bloop single by Rizzo advancing KB to 3B, but Garcia strikes out swinging to end the inning.

E3 — Rizzo's now the all-time leader in Cubs history in HBPs at 138. Garcia follows the HBP by striking out swinging at a slider. Swinging & missing at breaking balls is Garcia's main downfall.

E4 — Really great leaping catch by Bishop in deep LF to rob Heyward of an RBI hit. Inning over. Runners left stranded on 1st & 2nd. Lucroy hit a single that caromed off Sheffield earlier in the inning, but Sheffield was able to remain in the game & escape the inning. Cubs are already 0-for-7 w/ RISP today.
