The 2018 offense was a huge disappointment with only the elder statesman Ben Zobrist having a stellar year. Fortunately, Ben has the work ethic and character to continue to try and improve his game at 38 years old. So why did we as a Cub fan base not see a more concerted effort to work more counts at bay and have a sense of urgency to hit the ball to the opposite field with runners on base? Could it be the fact that the team hired a hitting coach that during his playing days would swing at any pitch thrown to him. I can't believe that I am the only one who sees this as the first official move to get this team back to hitting like they are capable of. As for David Hyde as the bench coach.... Come on man!
