Whatever happened to running hard all the way through first base and catching fly balls two handed? I see many pros, sometimes my Cubbies, slowing down when they see they aren’t likely to beat the throw or dropping a fly ball when a two handed catch might have helped secure the out. Been a fan for more half a century. We can’t afford to give anything away.

Yea it certainly seems to be a different style of baseball, not just with the Cubs.

It's a homer or nothing these days. I think some players would not take a single if they could get another shot at a homer.
