San Francisco Giants (24-26) @ Chicago Cubs (25-21)
Derek Holland (2-5, 4.94) vs. Kyle Hendricks (3-3, 3.40)
First series between the Cubs and the Giants this year. Cubs looking to snap worst two-gam stretch of season. Zobrist leading off (which he has excelled at lately).

M1 — Cubs strike first. Zobrist with more leadoff magic. Single followed by Almora single. Rare passed ball by Posey puts them on 2nd & 3rd. Cubs only able to score 1, though, on a Rizzo single. Almora left stranded.

E1 — Cubs strike first. Zobrist with more leadoff magic. Single followed by Almora single. Rare passed ball by Posey puts them on 2nd & 3rd. Cubs only able to score 1, though, on a Rizzo single. Almora left stranded.

M7 — A couple of great defensive plays for Cubs in the top of 7th. Zobrist makes leaping grab in front of wall in right, & Bryant lays out for hard-hit grounder. Another good inning for Hendricks, & this game continues to fly by. 7th-inning stretch less than 2 hours in.

B7 — Bryant blows the game wide open with clutch 2-out, 2-run hit. Cubs up by 4. Chicago had left six men on prior to that. Good for a team struggling at the plate earlier in the week to have a big inning like that.

It was a solid win, but San Francisco's bullpen completely blew it for them. Báez needs to start working on taking his pitches better as well, as he currently has an OBP lower than .300, which is kind of concerning. Still, awesome game. Rizzo was great out there even though Holland has some control issues, and Bryant and Zobrist were very clutch.

I didn't realize Baez had that low of an on-base percentage. That's pretty bad. I guess if you don't walk ever, it can happen.
