How can you not think about it? We have another $26M to pay him, two more seasons to endure him, and a 40-man spot taken up by him. Anthony Bass told me the right coach could turn Chatwood around, and Tommy Hottovy may be just the right guy.

This season, at least for a while, is going to be shadowed by the bad of 2018, not the potential good of 2019. There's the Darvish and Chatwood sagas, the broken offense, all the changes in coaches, Russell's issues, Bryant's injuries, Maddon's future and so on. Lots of ugly memories to put behind them.
