With Jon Lester, are we witnessing the back-end of a Hall of Fame career? Just based on his career numbers at the end of the 2018 season, maybe not. However, with a few more productive years under his belt, there is a case to be made in his favor.

When you think of Jon Lester does HOF come to mind? Not really. I think he's one of those Hall of Really Good players. He's had a pretty solid career but I'm not sure he's passed that HOF threshold just yet.

I think with another 4-5 seasons if he can, that durability and those stats will start to look very good.

Possibly, but I just don't think of him as the dominant pitcher of his time like you expect from a HOF'er. Is he in the same class as Kershaw, Verlander, or Scherzer? Not to me.

I agree...IF he as a lefty starter if he gets over 200 wins, they will start talking more about him. Gone are the days of 300 win pitchers.

Lester has 177 wins and 2190 strikeouts. It all depends if he keeps playing forever (5 more seasons) and then he has a shot.
