Washington Nationals (59-56) @ Chicago Cubs (66-48)

Jeremy Hellickson (5-2, 3.56) vs. Kyle Hendricks (8-9, 4.07)

Opener of three-game series. Hendricks gunning for third straight win. Zobrist back from injury for Cubs.

M1 — Hendricks gives up 1 run in opening frame. Kind of lucky to not give up more. Bote makes great catch on popup to help out.

T6 — Hendricks with great pick-off move to out Soto. Murphy follows that up with single. Pick-off play prevents the single from mattering much.

B6 — Weird situation. Hellickson basically loses it with 2 outs in 6th. 3 straight walks leads to pitcher throwing no-hitter getting pulled.

B6 — Heyward gets one through to score 2 & tie game. Crazy rally for Cubs, considering they were getting no-hit entering the inning.

B7 — Controversial play. Contreras with a wily bunt, but he gets called out for being out of basepath after throw to 1B hits him. Maddon furious with decision. He gets ejected.

T8 — Easy to see why Kintzler was dealt by the Nats. Soto giving him a death stare after every pitch in his AB against his old teammate. Kintzler must've worn out his welcome in the locker room.

T8 — Contreras fired up after picking Soto off at 1B. Contreras didn't seem pleased with Soto's actions in his AB & his crazy lead he was taking off 1B. All of it seemed to be done to try to show up Kintzler.

F — Strop botches potential final out on grounder but gets game-ending K on next AB. Crazy game that Cubs come out on top in. Cubs with no life at plate early on but go on to win.
