I think he is going to end up with Pillies by the end of this. The only way I see he doesn't is if he doesn't want to leave there due to his feelings and or his families. That said i think he just wants the team that is going to pay him the most.

Thanks for the Harper update. It's not the same as when Ken does it but still great to get this story.

Here's the latest from MLB.com:

Source: Dodgers still in the mix for Harper

Feb. 25: ESPN is reporting that the Dodgers are back in play for Bryce Harper, and are interested in a short-term deal with the 26-year-old superstar.

Harper is looking for a long-term deal and has yet to indicate that his stance is going to change, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Sources also told Passan and ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that L.A. first contacted Harper’s reps about a short-term deal a couple of weeks ago.

A source confirmed to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez that the Dodgers are indeed interested in Harper. The development throws another twist into the chase for Harper, which had appeared to be down to the Phillies, Giants, White Sox and Nationals, though Philadelphia had appeared to be the heavy favorite to sign the outfielder.

Phillies owner John Middleton reportedly flew to Las Vegas on Friday night and met with Harper before heading back east on Saturday. There were reports that other clubs had sent delegations to meet with Harper in Vegas on Saturday as well, but that Philadelphia may have been in position to close a deal by Tuesday.

The Dodgers made a blockbuster trade in December that sent outfielders Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, along with left-hander Alex Wood and catcher Kyle Farmer, to the Reds. That transaction cleared some outfield space, sparking speculation that Los Angeles might make a move to sign Harper. But the Dodgers signed free-agent center fielder A.J. Pollock last month, and it appeared that the club was done adding to the outfield at that point.

I don't doubt that Harper met with the Dodgers again, but I'd surmise it was for no other reason than to continue to drive up the price for the Phillies. Los Angeles has a history of turning away long term deals, and Harper has said he isn't settling, or even considering any offers for a short term deal.

I'd prefer to see him go to the Phillies for 10+ years than the Dodgers at all.

I hear he's going to Japan for one year to drive his price up back here. Word is he was offered $763.28 American dollars.

So the Harper saga ends.

He gets a record total dollar contract of $330 million, as if anyone can live on those slave wages.

What he didn't get was:

Largest salary per year (Arenado)
Spring training in Arizona (FLA)
Playing for a West Coast team (PHIL)
A team ready to win right now (Mets, Braves)

Hope he's happy.

184M= Approximate $ Bryce Harper will net after Federal, State and Payroll taxes and then Boras gets his cut.
