I know it is early. How many games do we get before we need to push the panic button on all these strikeouts? The Cubs used to be known for working counts but seems like they have just started overswinging.

I pushed it when they set a National League record for strikeouts through five games. What do other people think?

Makes me worry we have had to use the bullpen already over 22 innings as of the game before today's game. I pushed it on the 17 inning game where we lost to the Marlins. It says something when Heyward is looking like the best batter in the line up so far. At least he is just hitting into the gaps and getting hits. There is still lot's of baseball but if we keep it up we will wear out the bullpen like we did last year and not make it very far in the playoffs because of it.

they waited til after the all star break last year to hit the panic button, it will all sort out. You gotta figure they played 27 innings in 2 games, that will mess with the stats a bit.

Yeah at least the bullpen has been solid. You figure the hitting will come along when the temp starts heating up as well.

Oh man...panic button? Not in a true fans vocab. Cubs baseball is always consistent in one area... inconsistency. I mean, Joe's our manager for ####'s sake. We can't even get a solid batting order until the post season. Or not. Still the only team I'd dream of cheering for.

I'm not always on board the Joe train too. You think Joe is part of the problem with bad starts to seasons lately?
