Absolutely pathetic that this many big names remain. Blame Harper and Machado though, as they seem to have jammed up the system.

The trend is that many owners don't want a bunch of high priced veterans anymore to long-term contracts.

If they don't agree to one-year or two-year deals, a lot of these guys will just have to wait it out longer. Not fun for them but I would imagine their agents are prepared to go the distance.

Trust me, this will become a big rift when the next CBA comes due. It'll be interesting to see if they try to implement a winter trade deadline.
