The shift on Rizzo

Does anyone know why Rizzo doesn't bunt or at least try to hit down the third base line every time they shift on him so that he can get defenses to play more straight up on him? I can't count how many hits he has lost by hitting into the shift.

I guess he might not be a confident bunter maybe.

If it were me I would have spent the entire off season working on bunting and going the other way.

I'm not going to second guess a big-time All-Star on his approach at the plate. That guy that said he should bunt all the time must be a veteran MLBer.

I'm just saying if there is a free base hit why not take it

Don't worry about Buzz Killington. He hasn't had his coffee yet.

it seems really simple but there is a reason the shifts are used in Baseball and they almost always seem to work. All you have to do is hit it away from the pitcher on the third base side and your Gold. I wonder if it is more to do with mind then with hitting talent. The shifts are new to the game even though he is a young player it is still new to the game. I don't know if the bunts are the right option but more learning to overcome the mind in order to just hit into the gaps.
