With a .169 AVG Rizzo have clearly lost the plot. There are pitchers who is better than him at the moment.
Could it be an idea to send him down to the Minors for some games? And send up Trent

He had a rough slump during the first month or so last season and ended up hitting his normal average and power. All good players end up rebounding...that is why they are the good players.

Yeah, but.. Cubs are suffering cause of it. We are not where ought to be on the table. Taking him out and let him play some Minors until he finds form, might be a thought. Now, the series against Marlins will be easier, but we will eventually meet much better sides

He's not able to be optioned due to his service time.

Ken is correct. He cannot be optioned to the minors without clearing waivers and that would not happen. Plus, there is no reason to do so.

Oh, and Cubs fans, they're 5-2 in their last seven games. Quit with the doom and gloom for god's sakes.

I think Rizzo will be fine. He is a professional hitter that will adjust his swing. Bryant on the other hand I have concerns about

Last 10 games he is 3 for 38 (.097). Certainly not where we need him to be, and Bryant, Schwarber and Almora aren't that far ahead of him.

I'll preface this by saying they did better today, but over the previous 8, the Cubs didn't win because of them, they won in spite of them.
