Tyler signed a three-year major league contract with the Cubs, December 7, 2017 ... is 40-46 with two complete games, a shutout, two saves and a 4.31 ERA (310 ER/647.2 IP) in 130 major league appearances, all but 17 as a starter, covering six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels (2011) and Colorado Rockies (2012-14, 2016-17)... Ranks second among qualified National League starting pitchers in road ERA the last two seasons with a 2.57 mark (45 ER/157.1 IP), trailing only Clayton Kershaw (2.16 ERA)... Has gone 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA (1 ER/13.0 IP) in his two-career starts at Wrigley Field... Missed most of the 2014 season and the entire 2015 campaign due to his second Tommy John surgery... Made his major league debut with the Angels in April of 2011... Originally selected by the Angels in the second round of the 2008 Draft ... signed out of Redlands East Valley (Calif.) High School where he was twice named San Bernardino Player of the Year (2005, 2007) ... had his first Tommy John surgery as a sophomore in high school.
