Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was named the Major Leage Baseball Players Association's Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award on Wednesday.

"To be associated with Marvin Miller is amazing for all he did," Rizzo said. "Thank you to all the @MLB_PLAYERS for this amazing honor. We will continue to keep fighting and using our platform to make a difference."

Rizzo has donated over four million dollars and worked tirelessly with his Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation since 2012 that helps raise money for pediatric cancer research and supporting families with cancer.

Sammy Sosa was the last Cubs player to win this award back in 1999.

Rizzo also won the 2017 Roberto Clemente Award in October which goes to the top humanitarian and community honor in major league baseball.

What a great year for the 28-year old and his foundation as Rizzo won two of the most prestigious awards for all of his great off-the-field efforts. That's Cub!

In 2017, Rizzo hit .273 with 32 homers and 109 RBI. For his career, he is hitting .268 with 166 homers and 534 RBI.
