Cubs News: Baez, Schwarber to participate in Home Run Derby |
This is going to be fun for Chicago Cubs fans.
Teammates Javier Baez and Kyle Schwarber have agreed to participate in Monday's 2018 Home Run Derby according to multiple reports. Both players are tied with the team lead with 17 homers each (tied 8th in NL). “It’s going to be fun, especially with Javy in there, too,” Schwarber said to the media Tuesday night. “I know what kind of batting practice that guy takes.” The other National League participants will be Nationals' Bryce Harper and Dodgers' Max Muncy. This will be the first time that the Cubs will have players playing in the event since Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo participated in 2015. The 2018 Home Run Derby and All-Star game will be on July 16-17 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. El Mago is ready to put on a show in the #HRDerby. How do you think he'll perform next week?
