Chicago Cubs slugger
Kris Bryant was a late scratch on Friday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a stomach illness. Bryant was warming up before the game in the outfield and started to feel sick during pregame.
Hopefully, this will not be a severe stomach issue, and Bryant can come back to help battle the rival Cardinals at some point in the series. In 2017, Bryant is batting .299 with seven homers, 19 RBI, and has a .401 on-base percentage. Veteran outfielder Jon Jay replaced him in the lineup and will play right field. Jay didn't even warm up in the outfield because he was not expected to start today.
