Contreras to use Venezuela bat wrap to get around MLB policy |
Cubs catcher
Willson Contreras is a proud Venezuela and until recently was wearing his country's flag on his arm sleeve during baseball games.
However, MLB is becoming a buzzkill referee in regards to player's gear and told him a few weeks ago to stop wearing it or be fined. Contreras stopped wearing his trademark sleeves but now has a new idea that MLB shouldn't be able to control since it's not part of his uniform. Regardless of the bats he uses, he has been doing reasonably well this season hitting .273 with four homers and 20 RBIs. He showed off his new Venezuela wrapped bats on social media Wednesday: ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/4EjnCaqtVN
