Cubs-Marlins to play MLB's 1st game of 2018

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs will be back to playing baseball soon.

Major League Baseball announced the important dates and schedule for the upcoming 2018 schedule and the Cubs will be playing the first MLB game of the season against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park on March 28 at 11:40 a.m. CT. This is the earliest start for a major league opener in baseball history.

This game is an early start time for baseball, but they are trying to cram a full slate of games on ESPN. The Cubs vs. Marlins will be followed by Astros vs. Rangers, Giants vs. Dodgers, and finally Indians vs. Mariners.

Make your coffee and cook up you some eggs as you will be watching some morning baseball. However, it's still Cubs baseball, and hopefully, it will be a start of an excellent season for the North Siders as they face off against Derek Jeter's gutted team. If the Cubs come out fast, beating up on an undermanned Marlins team could be just what the doctor ordered.

The Cubs announced some additional dates as the first spring training workout starts on Feb. 14 while the mandatory full squad is on Feb 19.
