What a crucial three-game set for the Cubs-Cardinals rivalry.
The Cubs are clinging to a one-game advantage with a magic number of 3 to clinch the National League Central division. Friday night's batting lineup for the game between the Cubs (93-66) and the Cardinals (87-72) at 1:20 p.m. CDT will be the following: 1. Daniel Murphy 2B 2. Ben Zobrist RF 3. Anthony Rizzo 1B 4. Javier Baez SS 5. Jason Heyward CF 6. Kris Bryant LF 7. Willson Contreras C 8. Kyle Hendricks P 9. David Bote 3B It will be a pitching battle between the 'Professor' (13-11, 3.49 ERA) and righty Adam Wainwright (2-3, 4.08). Hendricks is set to make his career-high 33rd start today which would make him only the fourth Cubs pitcher to do that in the last 10 seasons. Bryant returns to the lineup after being absent the last two games with a left wrist injury that he suffered on a hit-by-pitch on Tuesday night. He will bat sixth in the lineup and play left field. The Cubs-Pirates game will be televised on ABC 7 Chicago and ESPN (out-of-market only)
