The Chicago Cubs (57-48) will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on 7:05 PM CDT on Wednesday night televised on WGN-TV.
Veteran righty Jake Arrieta will take the mound for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Zack Godley. An interesting tidbit about Godley is that he was traded by the Cubs for Miguel Montero before the 2015 season. Arrieta is 3-1 with 2.25 ERA in his last five starts. For the season, he has a 10-7 record with 4.03 ERA with 116 strikeouts. Newcomer Alex Avila will get his first Cubs start and replace catcher Willson Contreras in the starting lineup.
