Wednesday afternoon's batting lineup for the third game of the series between the Cubs (58-42) and the Diamondbacks (56-46) at 1:20 p.m. CDT will be the following:
1. Anthony Rizzo 1B 2. Albert Almora Jr. CF 3. Ben Zobrist 2B 4. Willson Contreras C 5. Addison Russell SS 6. Kyle Schwarber LF 7. Ian Happ RF 8. Jon Lester P 9. Tommy La Stella 3B It will be a pitching battle between Lester (12-3, 3.14 ERA) and lefty Robbie Ray (3-2, 5.37). Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo is back in the leadoff spot which is the 25th time in his career. Joe Maddon is batting Tommy La Stella ninth so he can try to get someone on base for the hot-hitting Rizzo. Kris Bryant is out of the lineup for a second straight day as they try to rest his tired left shoulder. Javier Baez is out of the lineup after he injured his knee when Steve Souza had a hard slide at second base yesterday. The Cubs game will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Chicago.
