Cubs lineup vs. Giants, Almora to leadoff |
The Cubs will head out west as they try to keep up their winning ways.
Monday night's batting lineup for the first game between the Cubs (51-36) and the Reds (39-51) at 9:15 p.m. CDT will be the following: 1. Albert Almora Jr. CF 2. Addison Russell SS 3. Javier Baez 2B 4. Anthony Rizzo 1B 5. Willson Contreras C 6. Ben Zobrist RF 7. David Bote 3B 8. Ian Happ LF 9. Kyle Hendricks P It will be a pitching battle between the 'Professor' (5-8, 4.27 ERA) and lefty Andrew Suarez (3-5, 3.92 ERA). One interesting lineup note is that Addison Russell is batting second which is his first career start in that batting slot. The usual No. 2 hitter is Kris Bryant and he will be on his rehab assignment for the Tennessee Smokies as they face off against the Montgomery Biscuits. The Cubs game will be televised on NBC Sports Chicago and MLB Network (out-of-market-only).
