The Chicago Cubs (58-52) will take on the San Francisco Giants on 9:08 PM CDT on Monday night televised on ESPN and WGN-TV.

Righty veteran Jake Arrieta will get the start for the defending World Champions opposed by lefty Matt Moore.

In 2017, Arrieta has a 10-8 record with 3.88 ERA with 124 strikeouts. He has been impressive recently with a 2.08 ERA in his last six starts.

Willson Contreras was named National League Player of the Week on Monday afternoon and will be batting in the cleanup position tonight. He is batting an impressive .455 with five homers last week. Since the All-Star break, he is batting .346 with 10 homers, 29 RBI, .782 slugging percentage, and 1.196 OPS.

The Cubs are currently in first place in the National League Central (0.5 games) ahead of the Brew Crew.
