Cubs lineup vs. Giants, Bryant returns |
The Cubs will win the series against the Giants this afternoon. The North Siders have won 10 out of their last 13 games.
Wednesday's batting lineup for the series finale between the Cubs (52-37) and the Giants (48-46) at 2:45 p.m. CDT will be the following: 1. Ben Zobrist RF 2. Jason Heyward CF 3. Kris Bryant 3B 4. Anthony Rizzo 1B 5. Javier Baez 2B 6. Kyle Schwarber LF 7. Addison Russell SS 8. Victor Caratini C 9. Mike Montgomery P It will be a pitching battle between Montgomery (3-3, 3.68 ERA) and righty Johnny Cueto (3-1, 1.95). Kris Bryant returns to the lineup for the first time since June 22 after his disabled list stint with his right shoulder inflammation. He will play third and bat in the third spot. Infielder David Bote was sent down to Triple-A Iowa to make room for Bryant on the roster. Anthony Rizzo also returns to the lineup after a day off Tuesday. The Cubs game will be televised on NBC Sports Chicago and MLB Network (out-of-market only).
