Cubs lineup vs. Nationals, Bryant out

The Chicago Cubs (39-39) will battle the Washington Nationals at 3:05 p.m. CDT on Thursday afternoon televised on CSN Chicago and MLB Network. Righty veteran Jon Lester will take the mound for the defending World Champions.

In injury news, Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is on the disabled list with a hand abrasion and Ben Zobrist is still out with his wrist injury and doing a rehab assignment at Double-A Tennessee.

In case you missed it, Kris Bryant is out with a right ankle injury that he suffered during Wednesday night's game.

However, there are some good news as shortstop Addison Russell is back in the lineup and batting fifth.

The Cubs are currently still in second place in the National League Central (1 GB) behind the Milwaukee Brewers.
