The Chicago Cubs (68-59) will battle the Philadelphia Phillies at 6:05 PM CDT on Saturday night televised on ABC 7 Chicago. The Cubs are in sole possession of first place ahead of the Brewers by three games in the National League Central division.
The North Siders are currently 6-4 in their last ten games. Kyle Hendricks will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Ben Lively (1-4). In 2017, Hendricks has a 4-4 record with an impressive 3.52 ERA and 81 strikeouts. He has a 2.45 ERA since coming off the disabled list. Willson Contreras will still be out of the lineup for at least a few more weeks dealing with his hamstring injury. However, both Contreras and injured shortstop Addison Russell are getting better and have been doing outfield running drills this week. Both players took early batting practice on Saturday.
