Thursday night's batting lineup for the first game of the series between the Cubs (69-50) and the Pirates (61-60) at 6:05 p.m. CDT will be the following:

5. Ian Happ LF

6. Albert Almora Jr. CF

7. Willson Contreras C

8. Jon Lester P

9. Addison Russell SS

It will be a pitching battle between Lester (12-5, 3.89 ERA) and righty Ivan Nova (7-6, 4.42).

Javier Baez is back in the leadoff position for the fourth time this season.

The Cubs game will be televised on NBC Sports Chicago.
