Cubs lineup vs. Pirates, Schwarber out |
Tuesday's batting lineup for the first game of the series between the Cubs (61-44) and the Pirates (55-52) at 6:05 p.m. CDT will be the following:
1. Anthony Rizzo 1B 2. Ben Zobrist 2B 3. Jason Heyward RF 4. Javier Baez 3B 5. Albert Almora Jr. CF 6. Ian Happ LF 7. Willson Contreras C 8. Jon Lester P 9. Addison Russell SS It will be a pitching battle between Lester (12-3, 3.06 ERA) and righty Jameson Taillon (7-8, 3.73). Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo is back in the leadoff spot which is the 30th time in his career. Joe Maddon is batting shortstop Addy Russell ninth so he can try to get someone on base for the hot-hitting Rizzo. Schwarber gets the night off as Hap will man his spot in center field and Baez moves over to third base while Zobrist is at second base. The Cubs game will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Chicago.
