Cubs lineup vs. Reds, Lester starts |
Friday night's batting lineup for the opening game of the four-game series between the Cubs (22-18) and the last place Reds (15-29) at 6:10 p.m. CDT at the Great American Ballpark will be the following:
1. Ben Zobrist RF 2. Kris Bryant 3B 3. Anthony Rizzo 1B 4. Willson Contreras C 5. Addison Russell SS 6. Kyle Schwarber LF 7. Javy Baez 2B 8. Ian Happ CF 9. Jon Lester P Cubs will have Lester on the mound (3-1, 2.66 ERA) against righty Homer Bailey (1-5, 5.59 ERA). This is the first start for Lester this season against the Reds. On paper with this pitching matchup, the Cubs should walk-away with a much-needed victory. Cubs regular right fielder Jason Heyward is still on the disabled list with a concussion. The game will be televised today on NBC Sports Chicago and MLB.TV.
