Thursday night's batting lineup for the first between the Cubs (72-52) and the Reds (56-71) at 7:05 p.m. CDT will be the following:

David Bote 3B It will be a pitching battle between Hamels (8-9, 4.00 ERA) and righty Anthony DeSclafani (6-3, 4.12). Hamels has gone 3-0 with a 0.72 ERA in four starts with the Cubs. He is trying to become the sixth qualifying Cubs pitcher to go unbeaten in August with a sub 1.00 ERA. Murphy will be batting leadoff and play second base for the second time for the Cubs. This is the third time that he has batted leadoff this season and fourteenth of his career. The Cubs game will be televised on NBC Sports Chicago and MLB Network (out-of-market only).
