Cubs sign pre-arbitration contracts with 17 players including Contreras, Almora, Happ

MESA – The Chicago Cubs have agreed to 2019 contract terms with 17 players on their 40-man roster with zero-to-three years of major league service. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

The following players have agreed to 2019 contract terms:

Right-handed pitchers Adbert Alzolay, Oscar De La Cruz, Dillon Maples, Alec Mills, James Norwood, Jen-Ho Tseng, Duane Underwood Jr. and Rowan Wick.

Left-handed pitchers Randy Rosario and Justin Steele.

Catchers Victor Caratini, Willson Contreras and Taylor Davis.

Infielder David Bote.

Outfielders Albert Almora Jr., Ian Happ and Mark Zagunis.
