The Chicago Cubs are not at full strength despite making some moves within the National League Central division.

Newcomer Yu Darvish and reliever Carl Edwards Jr. are two important pieces of the ballclub and are both currently reside on the disabled list.

Cubs pitching coach Jim Hickey was interviewed on 670 The Score on Wednesday morning and said that Darvish needs another bullpen session and then work in a simulated game before he is ready to rejoin the ball club.

However, he is optimistic about his return.

"I would be a little bit surprised if he wasn't back before the (All-Star) break, Hickey said.

For the season, Darvish has a 1-3 record with 4.95 ERA, 49 strikeouts, and 1.43 WHIP.

With regards to Edwards, Hickey said that he would make the trip to St. Louis with this teammates and he is around a week away from being activated from the disabled list.

He is 2-1 with nine holds and a 2.88 ERA (8 ER/25.0 IP) in 25 relief outings with the Cubs.
