Dodgers superstar has broken wrist |
NLCS MVP Justin Turner won't be able to terrorize opponents to start the 2018 baseball season.
The Dodgers superstar broke his left wrist when a 94 MPH fastball struck him in the first inning during the team's 3-1 win over the A's on Monday night. He rolled in agony on the ground for minutes near the team's dugout right after the injury. Check out the video below to see the entire play. Turner will open the season on the disabled list and should be out at least six weeks according to the X-rays done after the game. “I used to be hoping clearly the X-rays can be adverse. However, there is a small non-displaced fracture,” Turner said to reporters. “We will simply play it via ear, see the way it is going.” There is no official timetable for his return and 2B Logan Forsythe will more than likely move to third base during his absence. Last season, Turner batted .322 with 21 homers, 59 walks, and 71 RBI and came through huge with a .333 average and two homers against the Cubs in the NLCS.
@redturn2 My 2 year old was very concerned about your injury before bed time. Hope to see you back on the field sooner rather than later. pic.twitter.com/78wjt9N5rg
