by -

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs host the Pittsburgh Pirates September 13-15, Cincinnati Reds September 16-18 and St. Louis Cardinals September 19-22 at Wrigley Field for the final homestand of the 2019 season.

The Cubs will honor longtime broadcasting partner WGN-TV Saturday, September 21, during the final Cubs home game broadcast on WGN-TV. Before the game, to commemorate the 72-season partnership, the Cubs will present WGN-TV with a Wrigley Field scoreboard tile with the number nine on one side and the lyrics to “Go Cubs Go” etched on the other. Additionally, a group of the longest-tenured members of the WGN-TV broadcast crew will gather on the field for the first pitch and WGN-TV station members will lead the crowd in singing the seventh-inning stretch.

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Cubs are hosting a series of events this homestand. Fans who purchase a ticket through the September 15 Special Ticket Offer will receive a "Los Cubs" cap. Fans attending the September 15 game also can enjoy two traditional Hispanic dishes in the ballpark: Birria Sopes, served with goat birria, refried beans, queso fresco, cilantro, onions, radish, pickled Fresno peppers and lime wedges, will be available at the Sheffield Corner and Elotes, a whole corn on the cob grilled, dunked in butter and topped with lime crema, Tajín and Wrigley queso mix, will be available at the Marquee Grill. Additionally, Cubs players and coaches will wear “Ponle Acento” T-shirts during batting practice. The Cubs continue the celebration of Hispanic heritage Wednesday, September 18, with Roberto Clemente Day. Before the game, the Cubs will host a reception for leaders in Chicago’s Hispanic community as well as honor New Life Centers of Chicagoland’s Director of Urban Life Skills Program Jorge Roque for his dedication to the community. The Cubs also will recognize Cubs pitcher Jon Lester as the team’s 2019 Roberto Clemente Award nominee for his charitable work through his NVRQT (Never Quit) campaign, which raises money for pediatric cancer research and care.

Cubs Charities will join Major League Baseball to raise awareness for childhood cancer Friday, September 13, by going "gold" for Childhood Cancer Awareness Day at Wrigley Field. Fans can join the fight by purchasing tickets to the Cubs-Pirates game at www.cubs.com/everybodyingold and receive an #EverybodyInGOLD batting practice shirt. A portion of the net proceeds from the Childhood Cancer Awareness ticket offer will be donated to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, Jon Lester’s NVRQT campaign and Joe Maddon’s Respect 90 Foundation. Net proceeds from that game’s Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle also will be split among the charities serving children battling cancer. Fans can purchase Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle tickets inside the ballpark or online at www.cubs.com/raffle starting at 11 a.m. CDT. During the game, Cubs players and coaches will wear gold ribbon decals, wristbands and #EverybodyInGOLD batting practice shirts, as well as participate in a special pregame activities alongside patients and their families. On Wednesday, September 18, in collaboration with MLB and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, the Cubs and Clark the Cub will deliver baseball-themed Starlight gowns to Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge – Infusion Center.

In association with the 22nd Annual Chicago Football Classic featuring Hampton University and Howard University, the Cubs are hosting HBCU Day at Wrigley Field Friday, September 13. Fans who purchase tickets through the Special Ticket Offer will receive an HBCU Day T-shirt. Attendees also will be able to enjoy live performances by the Hampton University and Howard University bands before the game at Gallagher Way. On Sunday, September 22, the Cubs will host Fan Appreciation Day. As in years past, the seventh-inning stretch will be led by the Wrigley Field Grounds Crew.
