The Chicago Cubs will welcome back veteran lefty Jon Lester off the injured list (hamstring) to pitch this afternoon's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lester is 1-0 with an impressive 2.57 ERA in 3 starts this season.

His roster spot will put them over the limit so the team will option reliever Tim Collins to Iowa Thursday.

Collins has been reliable in his brief stint with the Cubs since being recalled on April 10 with a 2.70 ERA in four appearances (3.1 innings pitched). He has made three relief outings with Iowa this season, posting no record and a 3.38 ERA (1 ER/2.2 IP).

The Cubs should be OK with lefty relievers because they still have Randy Rosario and Kyle Ryan in the bullpen if needed.

Keep in mind that lefty Mike Montgomery will also be back soon from his rehab.
